At our recent Steering Committee meeting, we agreed to continue the Monthly Picnics at Rotary Park. We have reserved the Pavillion for Saturday, September 26th. Rental does cost the Chapter $112.50 each time. We feel it is a worthwhile investment to provide each of you an opportunity to get away for a few hours in a safe, clean, pleasant environment while still complying with all Covid restrictions. So join us! We start about 10AM and stay as long as you want. It will be informal like our regular luncheons, and you will need to bring everything for your group’s lunch. We will have a donation jar, but do not let this deter you. Donations are optional. Just reply to this email if you plan on attending. The park does have a capacity limit, but so fat this has not been an issue
Here are some details to help you plan for the day. We look forward to seeing all of you.
WHERE: Rotary Park at Suntree, 6495 US Hwy 1, Melbourne, Fl 32955, Large Pavillion
WHEN: Saturday, September 26th, starting at 10AM.
COVID-19 INSTRUCTIONS
We will follow whatever rules Brevard County has in force at the time. Right now we have the following rules.
1.The Pavillion is designed for 150 guests. We are limited to 50 at this time.
2. We will follow social distancing standards by spacing tables far enough apart and limiting the number at each table. We will have disposable plastic table cloths on each table used for sitting.
3. Masks are encouraged, but not required. If you are comfortable with a mask, please wear one.
FACILITY: The Pavilion is very large, completely covered but open on all four sides, concrete floor, has large heavy picnic tables (moveable, but you couldn’t steal one!), two attached bathrooms, two sinks with running water, and even a built in grill under the covered canopy. The Pavillion is separated from other park facilities, is right on the shore of the Indian River, has access to the shore line and a very small beach, and has an attached long pier into the river with a small covered Pavillion at the end. The parking lot (only one for the entire park) is paved and there is a concrete path from the lot to the Pavillion. In all, the facility is ideal for our event.
BRING: EVERYTHING you need for your lunch and snacks. This includes all plates, cups, paper products, silverware, etc. This is to minimize any possible cross contamination. Your own drinks. No Alcohol. An umbrella only if the weather is wet. The Pavilion provides complete protection but the walk to and from the parking lot is not covered. About 200 feet (My guess).
BRING PICTURES OF YOUR CHILD. We will have room to display them. Past Walk to Remember signs are welcome! Cameras.
Look forward to seeing you!
